There’s nothing wrong with you for feeling tired.
There’s nothing wrong with you for moving a little slower when it’s cold outside.
There’s nothing wrong with you for resting.
You’re not “lazy” for feeling the need to rest.
You don’t need to do more.
You have nothing to prove to anyone.
It’s okay to rest.
Sometimes we just need to rest because our body told us to.
Sometimes our bodies just feel the need to rest because the weather outside is communicating to us that it’s time to rest and recharge.
That doesn’t mean that there’s something wrong with you.
It just means that you’re connected with your environment.
It just means that you’re connected to the changing of the seasons.
It just means that you’re self aware enough to know that your body is tired and needs some rest.
And that’s a good thing. In fact, that’s healing.
Why? Because by accepting our own need to rest without self judgment, we’re accepting our own humanity. We’re accepting that we’re human and not machines. We’re accepting that we live in a body that can’t go-go-go 24/7.
It’s healing when we can finally accept ourselves for who we are despite all of the unhealthy and unsustainable standards in our culture.
I hope you’ve been giving yourself time to rest this week.
