Our current economic system — and the cultural beliefs that support this system —don’t support most of us in living the lives we feel called to live.
It doesn’t support us in resting.
It doesn’t support us in creating genuine connections with other human beings.
It doesn’t support us in creatively expressing ourselves as we feel called due to economic pressures and limitations.
It doesn’t support us in truly supporting our own health and well-being in order to prevent and truly heal from illnesses.
It doesn’t support us in being able to truly care for ourselves.
It doesn’t really support us in truly enjoying life itself.
And, frankly, it’s abusive.
It’s exploitative.
It strips us of our most basic human needs for the sake of material gain for others…
Which can prevent us from becoming who we most desire to be.
And that’s, perhaps, the biggest tragedy of it all — that our systems, as they current are, don’t take into consideration what human beings, by design, most need. And that’s inhumane.
Which begs the question — are we going to accept this or not?
